About Us

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point GAA Club is an Intermediate football club based in North Sligo and includes the parishes of Drumcliffe & Rosses Point and area overlooked by Benbulben. Gaelic football has been played in Drumcliffe under different guises since 1888.

The Club colours are red and black. Our club play home games on Oxfield Community Park. We field 2 adult football teams - Intermediate, Junior and an array of underage teams for both boys and girls.

1888 Formation of Drumcliffe GAA Club.
1889 Drumcliffe & Carney both contest Sligo County Championship.
1924 Drumcliffe win The Sir Jocelyn Gore-Booth Trophy in Cliffoney.
1927

First tournament success for Drumcliffe at Johnsport.

1931 Carney/Grange win Café Cairo Cup.
1934 Drumcliffe win Sligo Junior Championship.
1938 Drumcliffe make first appearance in Camogie Championship & St Colmcilles (amalgamation of Drumcliffe & Maugherow) is formed.
1940 Drumcliffe win Bundoran 7-aside torurnament.
1942 St Columbas (second amalgamation of Drumcliffe & Maugherow) is formed. First recorded references to hurling in Drumcliffe.
1944 St Columbas win County Sligo Senior League.
1952 Revival of Drumcliffe GAA Club.
1958 Drumcliffe win County Junior Championship.
1959 Camogie revived in Club.
1961 Formation of St Anthony's (third amalgamation of Drumcliffe & Maugherow).
1964 Drumcliffe win U16 Football County Final.
1966 Drumcliffe are beaten finalists in Sligo Minor Football Clampionship.
1974 Benbulben Rangers formed.
1977 North Division Junior Championship winners.
1979 North Division Junior League Champions & Runners-up in County
Junior League.
1981 North Division Junior Championship Winners.
1982 Drumcliffe GAA Club formed 1984 U14 North Division Football Champions.
1985 Oxfield Handball Club formed.
U15 Champions of Winter Football League.
